Terms and Conditions

Legal disclaimer

The Guatemalan Forensic Anthropology Foundation (FAFG) provides on this page general, high-level explanations and information on how to draft your own Terms and Conditions document. You should not rely on this article as legal advice or recommendations on what you should actually do, as we cannot know in advance the specific terms you wish to establish between your foundation and its collaborators. We recommend that you seek legal counsel to help you understand and assist you in creating your own Terms and Conditions.

Terms and Conditions - the basics

That said, the Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) are a set of legally binding terms defined by the FAFG as the foundation. The T&Cs establish the legal boundaries governing the activities of contributors, visitors, and donors on the foundation's website. The T&Cs aim to establish the legal relationship between website visitors and the foundation.

What to include in the Terms and Conditions document

In general, Terms and Conditions typically address these types of issues: who can use the website; available donation methods; a statement that the foundation may change its offerings in the future; the types of guarantees the foundation offers its supporters; a reference to intellectual property or copyright issues, where applicable; the foundation's right to suspend or terminate a member's support; and much more. For more information on this, see our article 'Creating a Terms and Conditions Policy'.
