Volunteers

The FAFG works with national and international students through a Volunteer Program. For further information please contact at nancy.vela@fafg.org
Requirements for applying to be a volunteer
Present:

  1. A letter of motivation for the volunteer placement;
  2. CV;
  3. If you are a student, please present a letter from your university supporting your volunteer placement application. If you have graduated, please present a copy of your degree certificate;
  4.  Proof of medical insurance (for foreigners);
  5. Commitment to volunteering for a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 months;
  6. Two or three emergency contacts
The Foundation can receive a maximum of two Guatemalan  and two international volunteers at the same time.

 

 

 

The FAFG will provide:
Access to unique collections in the field of forensics;

  1. The opportunity to acquire experience in forensics;
  2. The possibility of participating in at least one field trip;
  3. The possibility of participating in courses, workshops and training sessions during your time as a volunteer;
  4. Supervised osteological analysis;
  5. The opportunity to exchange knowledge with other experts;
  6. A certification of completion of your volunteering period;
  7. A pleasant work environmen

Please also take into considerations that:
FAFG will not cover salaries, bonuses, travel costs, accommodation costs, medical expenses or social security benefits. It will only cover costs during field trips according to the rates set by the Foundations.

The volunteer will not be allowed to use information for personal use or for the use of institutions other than the FAFG.

The FAFG holds the copyright on all the phases, reports, photographs, drawings and publications of the forensic anthropological investigations.

All documents in whichever format (written documents, records, books, magazines, photographs, drawings or other information) is exclusively and solely under the ownership of the FAFG.

Should the FAFG not be satisfied with the work or behavior of the volunteer, the employment relationship with the volunteer can be terminated at any time.
